Adding a 110v outlet

Has anyone added a 110v outlet for easier access from the rear of the counter? I'm thinking about adding one to the bottom of the overhead cabinets next to the range hood on the sink side. I don't like having the cord from my coffee maker hanging over the edge of the counter.

Thanks, Andy

I think I've seen mods where others have done a similar mod. As I recall, they tapped into the outlet supplying power to the microwave. A possible concern is enough power to run the microwave and another heavy draw appliance, like a coffee maker, at the same time.

Adding a additional outlet to your microwave circuit is not a good idea. ( and a code violation) in Canada. That's why you only have one plug-in for the microwave on the outlet. Source the power from another area, it shouldn't be too hard. I wish I had more 12 volt receptacles in our trailer. There is only one.

I have done it to power a small under counter light. It worked well for 5 years with no problems.
