American Flag Pole

I made a Flag pole 2 years ago and had a single solar light attached at the top of the pole to light up the flag.

The single solar light did an "OK" job, but I wanted more light. So I revised the pole. I now have 2 lights attached at the top of the pole.
This is what it looks like at night with 2 lights.

I am rather pleased with my revised Flag Pole and Lights!!
Just wanted to show it off!!!!!!

Looking good, Daryl and Sandy. How does the pole handle higher winds?

We had winds around 30mph last year during one of our trips. I have 3/4" metal pole pounded in the ground and the PVC pipe slips over the metal pipe. It rotates when winds whirl around, but as for higher winds (40mph or more) I have not found out yet. I suspect that I would bring it in.
If I have to put the awning up, I will bring the flag in as well. That may be my new rule.

I used the following instructions as a guide:
http://www.missouriscenicrivers.com/...poleplans.html

I used 1" PVC instead of the 3/4" PVC suggested in the instructions.
I purchased two solar lights at Home Depot and attached at the top.

Very nice Darly. I like that idea. These days we cannot fly enough U.S. Flags.

I tried to get to that link and it seems to be gone. I really like that flag pole set up, and would like to get the plans. I have a question though. Do you put it together each time from all the pieces or is it built in sections? Thanks

Very nice, I have seen a couple of those flag poles around our neighbor hood, but not with the lights that really looks cool lit up. Nice job

I have seen flagpoles like that in high winds and they do very well.

There are two sections of the flag pole.
The top straight pole with the flag on it is one section and that stays inside the trailer with the flag roled up.
The other section is the section from the ground and the 45 degree angle up. That section and the metal pole inside stay in the outside compartment of the trailer.

Try this link. I used 1" PVC instead of the 3/4" PVC

I forgot to tell you that I added another "T" at the top instead of the cap at the top. That "T" is were I mounted the two solar lights.

Just askin', but.... Is there a reason why you used 1" PVC instead of the 3/4"?
