I have nothing but utter contempt for outfits like that. eBay has had a flood of Chinese "vendors" that do not maintain any inventory. They just list what other companies carry, then, after taking your money, order what you ordered from the company that does have it and have it drop shipped to you.

I ordered the digital to replace my main thermostat but need to know if anyone has found one for the second AC that doesn't have a setting for heat? Or will the same one work?

The same one should work. Similar to what the Jayco factory installed in ours and then just applied a blackout sticker over the Heat label on the switch.

And cap off the wires that aren't used. On mine it is a white wire on the thermostat not used.

Another vote here for this mod. I had an unused residential unit I was going to put the fan switch in but decided to do the Coleman version because a) like others the DW wanted it to be black and b) because I found it for a reasonable price online. Much happier then with the analog...

x10? 20? 30? Whatever the number is, many of us have done this and it's definitely one of those mods that pays for itself in comfort and convenience almost immediately. It's also one of those mods that makes you wonder why the industry is so penny wise yet dollar foolish.

IMHO, digital thermostats should be standard on every RV and travel trailer. Instead of us all throwing away $25 analog thermostats and installing $60 digital replacements, why not just give us digital units out the door? Even if the manufacturer passed 100% of that cost onto customers, it would add what, maybe $20 to the vehicle purchase price (since they'd be buying digital thermostats in bulk at wholesale pricing)? Same thing with winterizing prep, black tank flushers and other things that are so integral to operating an RV, yet owners have to do aftermarket mods...

I know RV industry vs. auto industry is an uneven comparison (and the auto industry is by no means perfect), but try to find the most basic car today without AC or power windows. These things, which were once optional, are now standard equipment at virtually every price point because they're so inexpensive to incorporate. It would be nice to see that happen in the RV industry. I'm not calling for auto-leveling on 15 ft. pop-ups, just the little things that manufacturers know 80% or more of owners are going to want or need at any RV price point. Okay, putting away soapbox and taking deep breaths into a paper bag...

I agree. It's crazy that digital tstats aren't standard on ALL rigs. Like you said, pass the cost along. It's peanuts.

Coleman Mach 8330 install in WH 28DSBH

Here's our install. In the 28DSBH it's a little dicey because the digital thermostat is slightly larger than the analog unit and protrudes further from the wall. I was concerned that the adjacent pantry door would hit it, but it still swings open freely (with just a couple of millimeters to spare!). Looks like it was always there.

I love the digital thermostat! We're at the beach right now and I really like being able to set the temp exactly where I want it ... consistently.

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to run the fan only with this thermostat?

If you're talking about the direct replacement Coleman digital T-stat, yes. You can run the fan only on either high or low.

Yes I'm referring to the digital replacement by Coleman. If you move the fan mode from AUTO to ON position, and leave the thermostat mode at OFF position, is that all it takes to run fan only?

I think so. It's been a LONG time since I've done that. And honestly, I can't remember if last time we did it we had the new T-stat installed. That being said, I'm relatively certain that's how it works.

Perhaps someone with more recent experience or access to their trailer can chime in? I won't see my trailer hooked up to shore power again for almost another month.

I just ordered this one, since I need to run the furnace only. Should be here sometime next week.

I have the Rv Comfort Coleman-mach 12- volt Digital Thermostat and there is no way to run the fan only on this unit. I tried the other day while camping at the beach.

https://vimeo.com/185139500 it works on my unit. Thermostat to 'off', fan set to 'on', both hi and low fan settings work.
