Tn10point,

Where did you pick off 12V & how did you route your wires? Do you have a control box for color change, if so, where did you mount it?

I'm asking because this project has been on my radar for our 212 QBW.

Thanks.

Jeff

Jeff, I have the 212 as well, I picked up the 12v off the patio light, added a switch in the mount to flip between the patio light and awning lights. I'll take pics this weekend. I went with a single color, so can't help with color controller.

We had a campsite and the second day we were there a group pulled in next to us and they had LED's under their awning. They left it on all night in some sort of random mode where it would change colors, blink, strobe etc. It was super annoying and it stayed on all night.

Hopefully you will be considerate and turn off your LEDs after quiet hours start.

Thanks, Neil. I'm also interested in how you and Tn10point mounted the strip.

Hey Neil my lights are mounted to the flat strip between the awning and camper side. They are held on with two sided tape facing straight down.
I connected my led's to my porch light. The controller fits perfectly inside the light.

Here is a pic of my porch light. After I used it to power my awning led lights.

This is how I did mine. I mounted a little lower and tapped into the patio light and added a switch on the patio light housing so I could flip between LED, patio or both. Switch inside still controls on and off.

so do you have 2 light strips? meaning you have the connection coming up from the amber light does it split to 2 different light strips? if so how did you spit it? is there a split you can buy or did you just connect the 4 wires together?

TIA

It's one strip. I soldered onto the stip to tie in. I'll get a better picture of that tomorrow.

Great job - looks awesome. I especially like the idea of adding the "selector switch" to choose between the light sources.
