Back-Up Lights

Hopefully no more getting out with a flashlight! Tied into reverse feed.

NICE! Where did you get them? They look like LEDs. Could you do a closeup of the mounting, drilled or welded?

thanks for the great idea!

I put those on my rig a couple years ago. Been thinking about mounting a pair to light up the wheels, so I can see where the wheels are, like you did.
Have you tried your set up in the dark yet? Does your front mounting position light the wheel area enough or should it be closer to the wheels??

I also use one of my upfitter switches to shut off my trucks reverse lights. Eliminates the bright reflection off the trailer

Everytime I play around with rear bumper lights on my trailer it doesn't pass the required annual DOT Safety inspections and they make me remove them before I can be issued a safety inspection sticker...haha...

I can add lights to the sides of the trailer but not on the rear... I guess they are afraid these lights might come ON when going down the public roadways... I guess they might be approved if I could prove them only come on when in REVERSE and maybe they have to do this automatically and not with a manually operated toggle switch somewhere etc... One time I was caught with NON Approved DOT Safety light that did not have the DOT approved numbers stamped into the lens...

Being a old timer JEEP guy we was always being caught with big lights on the front and on the top BAR of the Jeeps... Now I see LED lights behind the grill all the time... I guess DOT has a bunch of rules on mounting and using the DOT SAFETY light arrangements for those of us that have to abide by the DOT SAFETY Inspection rules....

Before spending alot of monies I would most definitely check in with the DOT FOLKS...

Would they pass DOT Inspection if the were turned to point out the sides before you take it for inspection. Than you can say they are side lights?

Is there a thermal liner on your rig? Like using the stabilizer mount location, good job.

I have some of those, they look the same anyway. I bought them on Amazon. I like them and have had no issues.
