Basement lighting

Had a roll of LED strip lighting sitting around I never used for another project so I decided the basement was too dark with the standard 921 fixtures. Stuck the srips to the bottom of a couple of floor joists and tapped them into the existing fixtures so I could use the switch that was there. ThenI pulled the 921 bulbs.

Great idea! I think I'll do the same with my unused string of lights (Actually I forgot I had them). Thanks for the idea.

I unscrewed the existing light unit which is the white surface mount with the switch at the bottom. I used Scotchlocks to tap into the power after the switch. Then I just put the light back on the wall and the switch now controls the LED strip. Saved the trouble of installing a switch somewhere. Maybe I'll install a small red LED into the housing to make finding the switch in the dark a bit easier but so far I just feel around for it.

I added a couple of these single 921 lights to my 5th wheel basement area which really helped but the mistake is I have knocked one off already cramming stuff into the basement.

Looks similar to this google photo...

Your idea of strip/rope type lights sounds like a better idea...

I don't have this problem on my main camper being the OFF-ROAD POPUP which has the large front deck. I can carry along some serious camping supplies using this... You can just see the large 9-inch scare light on the front side of my trailer in the storage area...

It will be, headed south at the end of the year.

Had to empty it out as I had all the side panels removed from in there for wire runs.
