Bathroom Sprucing!

We just finished painting and repairing a wall in the bathroom. We went with Sherwin Williams's "Fresh Eucalyptus." With the dark brown trim, it looks like mint chip ice cream.

We replaced the cheesy factory wall/floor cleats with L-brackets that we painted to match the floor baseboards. We made the baseboards out of 1" vinyl lattice strips and painted them to match the dark brown factory crown trim. We also added a backsplash around the sink. While we were at it, we fixed the toilet valve (3rd one to fail in 3yrs.) installed a new toilet seal, and fixed a lame factory-installed flange screw problem.

We'll load pictures later. Hopefully, we can get some good light to take them.

For the first time, we used DAP Ultra Clear caulk. It's not supposed to cloud or yellow, and it's paintable. So far so good. We're looking for a residential brushed nickel faucet that will match all of the other knobs, pulls, and hardware. We're also looking for the perfect artwork for the wall.

Now, we're excited to do the living area and bedroom. We've already chosen the colors!

We were able to find brush nickel faucet at Lowes to match our older unit's hardware. Did you prep the walls? And the backsplash, is that clear plastic with the counter top reflecting on it? It looks like a similar pattern. I like the color.

We've found excellent faucets and pricing on Delta's site.
We prepped the walls with a bonding primer.
The backsplash is a a muted green and tanish/off-white pattern (not clear). We found it on the "jungle" website.

Looks really good except for the crooked towel bar Curious why you used angle brackets on the wall/floor connection...were they necessary to hold the wall? I do like the mint wall color as well and the brown trim feels like chocolate chips Curious again, is that interior or exterior paint you used...you're inside but you can experience outside conditions depending on the climate?

Actually, the towel bar is not crooked. It must be the picture. The L-brackets replace the cleats that the factory stapled into the wall. They were separating and crumbling. The paint is Sherwin Williams "Emerald Interior Acrylic Latex."

I have the ability to brush paint two part 200 dollar a quart paint without hesitation. But even when I wanted to update an older one, which had solid wood finished interiors, I was hesitant to do so. Getting a professional finish job in a similar manner as cabinet shops gets with cabinets in spray booths has always been my fear when considering reselling and how it would look. There are so many new latex paints now that will flow out and are pretty tough. Touching up is a lot easier too than what you can blend with the older enamel type paints. You are a brave person to tackle the newer one in this manner.
