bathroom storage on X17Z

hey guys

we have a Jayco X17Z and we love it except that there is no storage. so im thinking to add a closet rod across the walls above the sink and shower. see layout modified attachment the red line would be the closet rod. This way we can just buy one of those foldable shelf storage units that go on the rod. if need to use the shower then its easily removed.
I want to use the closet rod that I have attached a picture of and want to use through bolts. not sure where there are studs in there. should I use the studs? are they easily detected with a stud finder? is there I can get a drawing of the actual jayco unit where the studs would be located?

I hope you guys can help me with some of these questons.

thanks

Contact Jayco with your Vin number and ask for the wall construction diagram. It will show you where all the framing members are at.

Make sure to post a few pictures when complete.

so i contacted jayco for the construction diagram and they sent me all of it but it doesn't show any of the side walls of the bathrooms. it only showed the studs for the exterior. I guess ill go buy a stud finder and we'll see. I will keep posted everyone

We used to have a Kiwi 17a, the ancestor of the X17Z. One of the things we loved about it was the sizable wardrobe closet. They eliminated it on the X17Z in favor of a larger refrigerator and a real bathroom. That closet is one of the few things we miss from our 17a. The closet in our X20E is about 1/4 the size and is sideways.
