This is what I put on mine. If someone really wanted it and had bolt cutters, it would be gone in 20 seconds but it keeps the local scum out of it or someone looking for a quick easy grab-n-go.

That is what I have on the battery box. We had the dealership do it when we put the solar power on.
So far no problem, we also put cable across it also, Hey I have the battery box at home I will take a picture of it and down load it on the site

on the plug if it is hardwired I saw some female outlets that wire in to camper and screw to side then you just connect the cord to them last night ... MFG P/N:marinco 30 arv kit found it at rv upgrades.com

they also carry locking cordsets for that female inlet 30 amp for 66.00 30 foot long

That's a pretty expensive part. I did mine for a coupla bucks by simply using a 2 foot long piece of extra heavy galvanized chain. Its so tight it won't slide off. Of course a bolt cutter won't stop anything.

I bought this aluminum under body toolbox used by truckers on eBay for $140. I will make some simple mods to it, flip it on its side so the door opens up, and mount it on the tongue of my travel trailer. I prefer the "out of site, out of mind" deterrent. That, coupled with a entry sensor on the door (and insurance), is about all I figured you can do.

I you mean by laying it on its side that the door will be on the top, won't you have problems with rainwater filling the latch mechanism recesses and running inside the box?

It's only the width of the batteries (long side). There's plenty of room on the tongue between the propane tanks and the front wall of the trailer.

As for the problem with rainwater filling the latch mechanism, I did not think of that. I will have to come up with a plan for that.

I wanted to update this thread after I completed my mod. I ended up purchasing a side rail truck tool box. It fits perfectly by tape measure. I have not installed it yet because ther is a huge snow drift in front of my TT. This weeks warmer temperatures should get rid of it hopefully I can install it this week. I got the box at Lowes for $149. The battery fits perfect in the bottom and I have a lot of space leftover for storage. I'll post pictures later this week.

Don't forget the off gassing from the batteries is corosive so besure you have it vented properly.

Getting an AGM battery (which is a sealed type) will eliminate this concern. More expensive battery though.

Thanks Grumpy, yes I have done some preparation before I install the box. I drilled a series of 1/4" holes next to the battery and at the opposite end of the box for cross ventilation. I also glued down a rubber pad for the battery to sit on. With temperatures in the upper 40's to low 50's this week, I am seriously going bonkers to get out and do all the Mods I want to do.

The only thing I am trying to decide is how to mount the box to the A-Frame. I don't want to drill into the frame if I don't have to. I'm going to Tractor Supply today to check out the size of the square type U-Bolts. I'd rather use that if possible.

If you can't find what you need there, Amazon seems to have quite a variety of square u-bolts.

I don't have a dog, unfortunately. I instead inherited a cat in the divorce. But don't think for a second I haven't considered pulling out at every stop a large dog food bowl with the name "HulK" in big bold letters on the front, 1/2 filling it with dog food (and silicone to keep in it place), and then having a large chain tied to the camper with a dog collar clip.
