on our 338 rets we have the king bed but no place to put a drink or books when we are in bed at night so me and a friend designed and built these bedside holders for the things we might have at night ... they just slide in under the mattress and rest on the plywood frame but don't have to attach to anything
Great idea....I was thinking of changing my bed to a king and this idea would allow me to do just that...thanks. I never go to bed with out a drink of some sort beside me....this would accomplish that and I can remove the night stands.

Very nice! For those who need some sort of bedside caddy or 'shelf', Amazon has some options too. With our bed, no room for a drink shelf as the wardrobe door would knock the beverage to the floor, so we got the Richard's caddy that holds Kleenex, etc.. Just added a strip of adhesive Velcro to the wooden platform and it stays secure all the time.
