We actually have a specific travel crate for our Corgi, in addition to his "main" crate at home. It took a little training, but he LOVES his travel crate. We don't even have to coax him into it. Most of the time if we leave him "free" in the camper, he goes in his crate anyway. And if he's not in our bed with us at night, he's in his travel crate.
Right now, his little crate "lives" on the couch. It's okay there, but not ideal. It works great for him because we park a little ottoman in front of it so his little short legs can jump up there and he can crawl into his crate. But only one person can sit on the couch. It hasn't been a REAL big problem because we don't typically spend much time inside except if the weather's bad, or we're all asleep. But I'm probably going to have to figure something else out since I plan to ditch the tri-fold couch for recliners...
Seeing the setups with the permanently installed crates makes me VERY jealous. We even looked at a rig with bunks, but passed on it because we didn't want/need that sleeping space. In exchange, we got a bit more counter space, and I think a little bigger shower. But if I had it to do over again, I would definitely consider this as a good reason to get the bunkhouse floorplan!
