Bunk Ventilation Question

Hello,
Not 100% sure I'm putting this in the right thread, if not please let me know.

Has anyone tried to modify the air flow through the bottom bunk of their TT?

I have a 2018 Jayco SLX 287BHS. The bottom bunk never gets any air, and I'm always playing with fans to try and make it better for my teen. Now that the warranty has expired, I was thinking about cutting out an opening under the ladder to increase the opening area, and possibly doing some type of mounted fan in that opening if I cut it out.

Thoughts? Seem feasible? Recommendations?

Thanks in advance.

David

I have almost the same identical trailer. Ours is a bhsw. I haven't put much thought into it but need to. When that curtain is closed there's no air movement. Be interested to what you come up with.
I'd rather not cut anything myself if at all possible but that doesn't sound like a bad idea.

You might post a couple of pictures of the bunk area and your proposed mod. Others might have something somewhat similar that could work for you. I picked up a small rechargeable battery fan from wall mart that is nice for my bedside and runs all night on low on one charge. $8

This is how I solved the lower bunk air flow problem using a computer fan and speed controller:

Looks like your bunks are configured like ours are.

My older daughter is going to love you for this!! She always gets stuck in the lower bunk and complains about being hot!

Another 28BHBE mod is about to take place...

Here is what I did in my bunks. I tapped into the 12 volt light circuit.
