Can I split the 12v awning LED wire?

I am looking to add a 2nd LED strip to my trailer since my 1st one is only visible when the awning is out.

Can I split this twisted pair to power both awnings? I understand I would only have one switch for both but just want to make sure I am not missing anything on what seems to be an easy project. Thanks!

I would think it would be fine electrically-speaking. LED is such a lower power draw. As long as you can waterproof it well, you should be good.

Yes, you can cut and splice in another set of wires. I would test everything before making the connections water proof. To water proof the connections, I would recommend liquid electrical tape. Just be careful, as it can drip, and can sometimes be hard to fully clean up.

LED's only work when wired in the correct way. If you flip the two wires, they will not work. So test, before making your final connections.

Good Luck!

The polarity needs to be correct. ++, --.

It this wire going to the awning motor or to the current lights? If so, is it a switched power source? You just might want to check if it has constant power to it, or not.
