Carpet removal

Has anyone removed all of the carpet in their camper to go to all hard flooring? Right now our 5th wheel only has carpet on the slide area & from the steps up into the bedroom. I'd like to remove all of the carpet & replace with hard floor (vinyl?). My concern is at the transition are of the slide out. Has anyone done this?

I see no one has responded. I have a little experience but it was in an older TT that did not have a slide out. It was 90 percent carpeted, when we removed it, it was all linoleum under it. I would recommend doing a couple of things. One call Jayco with your VIN number and ask what the floor is under the carpet of the Slide. Secondly you could pull a small corner up, and look.

On many of the newer Jayco's they are putting Reflective Bubble type material under the carpet in the slides to help improve the insulation since the slide floor is just a piece of plywood.
Do not know if the Reflective Bubble type material does a whole lot but I guess it is better than nothing.

A friend pulled the worn carpet on his trailer (another brand) and put down Pergo. He just did a few rows and then ran the slide in. The stuff was to thick and it all bunched up.
