Chair Storage

We were just RVing with friends who have an Eagle 5th wheel and we were discussing storage. They said they had storage compartments on the chairs at their table. I checked our chairs and no such storage was found.
Back at my wood shop, some 1/4” plywood, some 1/2” by 3/4” pine strips and some hinges, we now have more storage for small items.
The two main issues I found were removing the staples that attach the straps that hold the chairs down and the chairs being out of square.

Cool hack, but are you really going to use that small space?

I have these in my trailer. Haven’t found a use for them yet. But I have the storage under the dinette table with the expanding leaf for cards and games. If I didn’t have that space I might use them for that kind of stuff. Good place to hide crayons and stuff for the grandkids I guess.

Our 4 dining chairs have that feature. We’ve wound up storing our “rag” towels there. We use them to clean up spills, extra wipe for the door during rain and the like. The games is a good idea, we tend to carry a few.

I like the rags idea, going to use it. We just have all the wash cloths, hand towels and misc rags all in one stack in a cupboard. My DW is a little picky about her kitchen towels and wash cloths. This will get that misc. stuff out of her way. Thanks!!

Not sure yet. Maybe playing cards, cribbage board, pencils, paper. All that small stuff that gets lost in drawers.

DW uses them for storage the only problem is it makes the chairs a lot heavier when you have to move them to vacuum

We have the same chairs. The bottom was coming out of a couple of them so re stapled them using a longer staple and more of them. Nice and sturdy now. Store card games and such in them.

We have the same storage. I keep the extra remotes in there, all the manuals for the Rv and magazines and mail to read on our next stop.

Thanks for the thread. Now I remember where I put my RV GPS that I could not find when I left Fla. Sun.

X2. I removed 2 of my chairs because it's just me now. Makes the place look roomier.

This was a great post. I think I will store playing cards, batteries, etc. in the chairs. That will free up the "junk" drawer in the kitchen.
