Clothes Hanger Mod..
I got tired of Clothes hangers bouncing off the bar while traveling, tried using bungie cords and what ever.
This Mod works great for me, I use a 1"-2" firring strip, drill holes every couple of inches and use "L" brackets to attach it to the closet walls.
Picture shows not mounted, just to give you an idea what I am talking about...

If necessary you can always drill a few more holes or use the hangers that can double hang clothes....

Another way to mod the rod is to use pipe insulation and overwrap it with a corugated pool hose. You cut the pool hose along one side to get it over the rod then just use some wire ties to hold it on. The hose does several things, it holds the hangers on better and also keeps them from sliding while moving.

My wife has so many clothes hanging in the closet that they can't even bounce off the rail. If your shirts are bouncing off the rod you just aren't packing heavy enough.

I have a clothes rod running across the back of the shell on my truck I made from a screw type cargo bar. I put a couple of thumbscrew worm clamps on the rod to both keep the jackets that stay in my truck and any clothes I put there when traveling pushed to one side so the clothes don't slide into my line of vison. The clamps also keep the clothes pushed tightly together so they don't jump off the rod if a bump or pothole should sneak under my truck while I'm bombing down the road.

Put the hangers on the rod facing backwards they dont come off then...
