Smile Cold Weather Prep with 2017 SLX 195RB Baja

So I have finished what modifications I plan to do for the season on my 195RB. I have had this thing for about a month, and had a small checklist of things I wanted to do right off the bat. Sorry ahead of time if this seems long winded.

Underbelly Insulation:
The way the enclosed underbelly is laid out - there are 4 sections. The back quarter is primarily the gray and black tanks. The middle half had little if any obstructions to worry with. The front quarter had a bundle of wires crossing diagonally.

The front quarter I used R19 insulation (pictured below) with some nice wire I had lying around. I strung the wire up by drilling a "glove fitting" hole along side the holes that were there to keep the enclosure attached. I chose to use R19 because the bed, storage, and fresh water tank is above this section.

The middle half was the first portion I completed, and I now regret not using R19. I ended up using 2'' rigid foam insulation boards, cutting them just right (maybe a tad large) so that they would fit extremely tight and not need any support. I didn't get too great of pictures of this portion, so I did not attach them here.

The back portion, and the most vital in my opinion, did not get any insulation. Instead, I used a "tank blanket" that sticks to the bottom of the holding tanks. I chose to go the AC powered route because I don't plan on camping in tank-freezing temperatures without a full hookup site. If that occurs I will just dry-camp with some rv antifreeze down the toilet so we can still use it.

Feedback and/or constructive criticism is greatly appreciated!

Thanks for posting the pics. I've not had a reason to drop the underbelly on mine yet but have been curious as to how things are laid out underneath - especially the tank layout. Since yours is a 2017 those must be the larger 19.9 gallon black/grey tanks. I wouldn't mind swapping my smaller tanks out at some point but the way we use the trailer the smaller tanks don't pose any issues. Be interested to hear how you think the added insulation does when you are out in colder weather.
