Converting to stainless appliances

We love our 2017 White Hawk, but the interior decor is dark and makes it feel a little cramped at times, despite its large windows and optional skylight. We decided that upgrading our stove, range hood and microwave from black to stainless steel might help brighten things up, so I started exploring the potential costs.

Swapping out our 17" Atwood with a stainless version looked like it was going to cost about $700, until I realized that I could just switch out the door panel and add a stainless look decal behind the control knobs. I also thought that swapping out the chintzy looking wire burner cover for the newer, more substantial cast metal burner grates would improve the look. Total cost for converting the Atwood - $80. I plan to sell the old door and burner grate, so that should get my out-of-pocket conversion cost down to about $60. I'm still waiting on the door, but here are before/after pics of the conversion so far.

The microwave swap cost me $118, but selling the old microwave with surround kit should get my out-of-pocket cost down to about $70. Here's the new microwave after installation.

The range hood swap is costing me $120, but again, selling the old range hood should get my cost down to about $90. Still waiting on the stainless range hood to ship from E-Trailer.

Lastly, the 8cf Norcold refrigerator - brushed metal door panels cost about $280, so rather than going that route, I've decided to flip the existing panels over and cover them with a heavy, brushed metal, vinyl backed paper. If this works out, the cost will be just $28. Still waiting on the metal paper (China, of course). If it doesn't work I'll just use brushed metal sheeting instead.

If all goes according to plan, my total out-of-pocket conversion costs will be about $250-$300, which I feel is a pretty big bang for the buck. Sure, it's just aesthetics, but it's our home away from home - might as well enjoy the look of it! I'll post more photos when the entire conversion is complete.

Not sure about Attwood but Suburban has a stainless cover for the oven door, ours has the stainless appliance package. Might be available from Attwood too. The vent hood is also stainless.

Thanks, they do...I've got it on order - $28. Also have the vent hood on order.

Here's my completed oven/range hood/microwave conversion. I took the opportunity to upgrade from a 20" range hood to a 24". I think it looks more substantial.

Very nice! My favorite change to the 2018 model of my trailer was the stainless steel appliances. Looks like it can be done relatively inexpensively. Did you ever apply anything to your refrigerator doors?

I'm thinking about 3M vinyl. They have a couple of brushed metal choices. I'm going to start ordering parts pretty soon. Did you order the oven door directly from Atwood? Looks like Norcold sells the stainless panels, but they are almost $400.

So a couple more options that I've come accross for the fridge panels are this plastic brushed aluminum panel off of Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/Thin-Brushed-.../dp/B00NH05FBY

Or something like Wilsonart Premium 48-in x 96-in Satin Stainless Laminate Kitchen Countertop Sheet
