Cost on a couple of mods..

We have decided to do a couple of modifications to our 28bhs, that we feel will make life a little sweeter. One is to put some sort of a door on the master bedroom rather than the curtain, and the other is to have a matching counter top extension made.
The dealership was willing to provide a door that slid to the side, kind of like a pocket door.. for $700.00 installed. We decided against this option because it was not attached at the bottom and our dogs would likely break it trying to push past. plus the cost seemed outrageous.. as are most dealer upgrades of this type.
We ended up being able to order a custom sized bifold door, for $120.00 which will fold back nicely against the wall when not in use, but still give some noise reduction and privacy when closed. The downside is we have to stain it ourselves.. so I removed a cupboard door from the dinette and was out choosing a matching stain today.
The second modification is a custom counter extension made with the same colour of laminate as our counter. We decided to go 13 inches wide x 20 inches deep so that we can still squeeze by into the bedroom when it is in the upright position. The price on this was quite steep, because even though it is a small piece, there is still the same design and set up costs as on a larger counter. So our counter extension came in at a cost of $170.00... but at least we will only have to buy that item once.
I will post photos once they are installed.

Looking forward to the photos, I have considered a door of some sort also for the bedroom door.

Is the door made out of the same type of wood? If not you will probably need a different stain then. Different types of wood stain differently even with the same stain. We would like to have a door also for that extra privacy. Look forward to your pictures when you get done.
