Covers for camper switches

So I've upgraded from a pop up to a hybrid camper. That being said my kids love pushing all the buttons when they walk in the door. I'm looking to install a plastic cover that will cover the switches for the slide out and the water pump and water heater gas and electric. Any suggestions appreciated.

Most hardware type stores have clear plastic covers that will lock up a thermostat that mounts on your wall in the house!

Thanks, that's what I was thinking to, just couldn't remember what they were called. I think I found one that should cover all the switches by the door.

I have seen a small shallow box attached over the switches with a hinged door.

You could make it a message board and put a latch on it for the crumb crunchers fingers.

Here's what I did to cover the bedroom slide switch. Jayco decided best location is right beside the light switch and closest to the door. Of course the first thing you touch. Small bubble pack wall hooks were in.

Jayco cheated on the 19RD. Behind a door, 5' off the floor!

Controls for the awning, water pump and heater. Level gauges. Porch light, light string that runs the length of the trailer and the lights over the kitchen sink. Where nobody under 5'6" can see them.

And if you don't know to open the cabinet....

I wish at least the light switches were inside the back door on our 23RB. For us elders with bifocals it's unhandy to see which switch goes to what. Eventually I'll remember but for now it's kind of unhandy!

Our older 19H has a key holder/message board with a hinge lid over the switch center. This is not on the newer models. Wish I could post a pic, but unit in winter storage. Bet you could buy something similar at Wally World or similar and just cut the back out of it.

My bride often will look out the door to watch the awning extend and start the livingroom slide instead. What a shock when reading on the sofa and you get a ride. I hung a piece of paper over the slide switch to "try" and prevent this.

Just like my 32RLDS. Both slide switches, awning switch, awning light strip, kitchen sink light, main room lights, pump, HW heater elec and gas, and the tanks/battery monitor all there, just inside the door. I kind of like them there, all in one place.

I used my trusty label maker to label each switch.

Wouldn't help my wife. They already have labels AND are two different colors. I may look at rearranging the switches in that door covered access, or just put a flip up cover on the slide out.

I'm going to try to remember to do that for this next camping season. The lights you can do by trial and error but it's the little red buttons that I have a hard time seeing/remembering which is which!

I still would rather have the lights on a panel right inside the door though. I'm sure there are those that prefer it the way they are. I'm sure Jayco has a hard time trying to keep everyone happy!

On the list of mods for Spring 2016. Along with rearranging the sequence.
