Built and stained a cutting board slash counter top adder that sits on the stove with boards built on the bottom to hold it while traveling. Also made some shelves by the bed for cell phones and glasses. Kinda stole the stove topper from another member. Great idea.

Nice job! I just did the same thing only mine is a bit larger covering the entire stove top, oven vents. I bought a 2x2 piece of 1/4in sanded Birch plywood from Menards-$3.99, sanded down the corners, stained it in Old Maple finish. I glued non-skid shelf liner to the bottom and screwed 2 wood pieces on the bottom that rest against the back lip of the stove to prohibit movement. Also put felt pieces on the wall side to prevent scuffing. You're probably like me, a lot of trailer, but not a lot of counter space. I got the idea from that same member! Great Forum

I made the exact same cutting board! Did you use any kind of padding where the wood touches the grill?

Posted a few more. Super happy with the way it turned out. Cuttin board is the blue tag I resurrected. Basically just 1 by crafting wood. Cut it down to 16 by 21 routed the edges stained and sprayed some lacquer. Shelves just cut down some nice wood stained and routed. Small brackets. Stove top was about ten dollars. Shelves about thirteen or so due to brackets. I hate staining but I have a brother so I fetched the adult beverages.

No brightwhite, I didn't add any padding on the bottom, but I'm thinking about it. Thanks for the compliments guys. First mods I've done. Y'all have created a monster.

I don't have a picture but we used foam weather stripping, works great and stops any play from side to side.

Nice work! Are you planning on using the cutting board for food preparation? Usually a wooden cutting board is treated with some kind of vegetable oil.

Nice work Tgallagher! Don't use vegetable oil, though - it will turn rancid and also draw ants. Best to use food-grade mineral oil. You can find it at any drug store near the Castor Oil and Caopectate (sp) for a couple of bucks a bottle.

I'm not sure using stained pine would be such a good cutting board. Cutting boards are usually Maple (or hardwood of some kind) and not stained. May want to check the Minwax label for safety. Otherwise, looks great! I particularly like the BR end shelves.

Yeah. I doubt there will be much cutting done directly on it. We have a small cutting board for that. Mainly wanted to add to the countertop. Thanks for the input guys.
