Day / Night Shade Upgrade

Just bought a 2014 Jayco Jay Flight 32BHDS and the window shades are the day shades, not blackout/night shades. I have just started looking at upgrading them, so I don't have a specific manufacture picked out on where to buy the new shades. Has anyone upgraded to the day/night shades? I am talking about the ones that you can pull down half of them during the day and still get some light through (what my stock ones have) and then you can pull the other half down at night so no light gets in or out for privacy. We had these in the RV I recently sold. Does anyone have any shade manufacture recommendation?

My 2014 Eagle 338 rlts is the same way. I asked the dealer about doing an upgrade and he said it would be very expensive. My Eagle has the dark window tint so the day shades do a good job already. My wife sewed some black out shades out of black out material for the bedroom which we installed with Velcro inside the shades.

Upgraded to MCD

In our last coach we upgraded to MCD day/night roller shades. Had them installed at the factory in McKinney, Texas. The power shades are expensive and great in the front window of an A class. The living and dining shades are people powered and great also. Yes, the night shades are excellent at blacking out the interior. The day shades were a little too dark for my comfort.

MCD does post the price of the shades on their website. I found their customer service to be very helpful before and after installation.

Personally, I don't care for the day/night pleated shades. You can't see through them in the day time. If a string breaks you are doomed. Yes, I've restrung them . . .

We plan on upgrading our Embark to MCD's and installing them ourselves. They wouldn't work on the cab windows, so we'll have to find something to put on the outside of the windows.

Good Luck

We have the day/night shades and to me Venetian Blinds would be the perfect upgrade.

Interesting, because our 2014 Eagle 33.5RETS already has the day/night shades from the factory.

Eagle comes with day/night shades. Usually it is an option on other models.

I'm with Clutch...we are replacing all of the day/night shades to mini blinds taking away the lampquins in our 2103 Eagle. Half done and can't wait to get the rest done

I don't know if they make shades for tt's, but I hear a lot of advertisements for "blinds.com". They're suppose to have a great selection, great prices, and great customer service. Might be worth a look-see!
