Screwed in only from the ends. The weight is out near the ends / edges and I haven't noticed any flex. Works awesome in conjunction with the leg brace locks.

No issues! Highly recommended!

Thanks Threebutchers for the awesome idea!

I followed your directions exactly and it works great in our new 184BH. I too used a dowel. Our hardware store didn't have the latch pins, but Amazon did!

This just makes it so much easier to deal with converting the table.

I'm not especially "handy" and the only tricky part for me was drilling through the metal brace with the 9/32 bit. You have to be careful because the diameter of the hole is pretty large in relation to the width of the brace, so you have to be careful to place it just right so there is enough space on either side of the hole to maintain strength in the brace. But I was careful and it worked out great.

Thanks again for such detailed and helpful instructions. Now I'm going to look at your other mods for additional ideas...
