Do your "fairies" work for beer and food like mine did? Glad to see you're coming along...injury and all! The only thing I haven't done with mine yet is the test drive. Hopefully this weekend I can get that done and then torque everything back up.

The weatherman lied again and it was staying dry outside today. A little cabin fever was setting in on the work fairy. Finished punching out the inner race that gave me my dumb dumb injury. Got new races installed and bearings all grease packed. Removed the old drum on the back axle and backer plate. Popped out the old studs and went to install the caliper mount and it wasn't lining up. The caliper is going to be off a bit compared to the front location. Doing a little investigating, the axle was welded on to the spring mounts being clocked a bit off compared to the front axle. The front axle flange has a mounting hole at the 12o'clock position. The rear axle is clocked a little more forward putting the hole almost at the 1 o'"clock position. It's so hard to find good help these days, and people that take a little pride in their work. Oh well I guess. It's on there now.
The calipers got mounted and some caliper grease on the machined slide area of the calipers and mounts.
Now all I'm waiting on is the correct replacement hub rotors. I don't know what's going on there because they should have been here by now. AND to add insult to injury the hose shop is still waiting on 3 fittings and all my hoses will be done. All this COVID nonsense is taking its toll on everything.
Thanks China, ya filthy animals!

Your shackles flipped, once you get the shackles back up, the caliper brackets will better match up on clock position.

I would call them down right purdy. Pretty girls...... purdy brakes.
Heading back from Florida to across the bridge there Lake Huron. Then in forced 14 day isolation at our place out in the country. Damn virus is making us leave a week and a half early because of it.
Not nice! Can't even go visit the grandkids
Ugh! Least I can follow along on this purdy brake install thread!!

It took me a few minutes to pick up what you were putting down. I think you're right, when I set the weight back on the axles they will even out again.

I'll try to keep it interesting for ya, but I'm kinda at a stand still right now. Bummer.
DW had tuesday off, office shutdown, so I had to chauffeur her around that morning to pick up a few items at the stores. It was really eerie not seeing many cars on the road and even more eerie not seeing ANY Canadian tags over here.
The 2 week isolation, if I was confined to my property, that be one thing. Confined to the insde of my house, I'd prolly shoot myself. Lol!

Guess what the big brown truck dropped off today???
ROTORS! AND THE CORRECT ONES!!
Bill at stopyourtrailer came thru. He got the job done himself and got them shipped out quickly. Big shout out THANKS to him!!
Tomorrow, I'm, I mean the work fairies, are gonna get the races swapped with the Timken's, get the bearings grease packed and seals installed. The weather is not very cooperative, cold and rainy. Another day or two its going to warm up and the outside work can get done.
Slow and steady wins the race...

Nice job on the brake addition. The DW won't let me upgrade them yet. Not in the budget she says

The big brown truck will be dropping my kit off today. Looks like I will have plenty of time at home to do the install with all this Covid-19 going on.

It's funny you should mention that. I had a revelation yesterday about an easier way to get those races out. I don't know why I didn't think of this fiirst. Grabbed the air hammer gun and put in a flat chisel. Set the psi to 100 and.... BOOM! That just happened! If it took 5 minutes per rotor it took too long. Them races didn't put up any fight against that gun. WAY easier. I kinda feel stupid. Lol!
I, the fairies, got the new ones installed, bearings all packed, seals installed, pulled the tires and wheels off, and ..... the damn rain shows up. So that's as far as we made it. Tomorrow is supposed to be dry and a little warmer so we should be able to get everything mounted. And all we are waiting on is the fittings for the custom brake hoses. I'll be calling on them tomorrow for an update. This COVID crap is what's holding that up since 3/7.
