Fan Retrofit for Ventline V2092 Vent
After a forum search, I came up with the Vortex II Fan Kit as an option but with mixed reviews (somewhat loud, unbalanced blades, cheap switch). And I read the V2094 power vent w/6” fan does little for air circulation.
...retrofit is important, I don’t want to disturb the roof.
Are there more options to consider (or comments)? Thnx!

Buyer beware! we ordered on of these that WAS supposed to fit in our bathroom, it was a half inch too big and would not fit in the opening. I had to get authorization from the shopper to return it (even though we got it from Amazon) they sent an RMA but we had to pay for the shipping, $25.00 then they only refunded us $28 !! they said that the fan didn't work, which is BS because we never even installed it due to it fitting the space, so they effectively sent us a defective fan to begin with. Oh and it also comes with no instructions. I was very upset and left a negative review. I am still trying to find a fan that we can retrofit to get better ventilation...no luck as yet. I would think twice before ordering this fan. If you choose to get it check at Home Depot because I believe they sell it too and it would be easier and cheaper to return if you need to.

If you can locate a Maxxair Turbo Maxx fan it would provide a better fan without disturbing the existing vent assembly. It would have to be used or NOS because it seems that Maxxair stopped making it. I have mine from 2004 that is on its second camper. If you don’t mind some extra work the Maxxair 5100 is another option. I installed one in the bedroom of my Jayflight which meant cutting a hole in the roof. Easy job with the right tools.

I installed one of these this past summer, Fit was fine, pretty straight forward. Hardest part was removing the old fan assembly. Works fine, moves alot of air, it is louder than the old one but does the job. The blades on mine are balanced.

I installed a Heng's Vortex in mine last year I think? Maybe longer ago... Did it in my dad's driveway with basic hand tools, no problem.
Fit was fine. I think I had to make one minor modification? Just because I was tired of fighting with it. It gets old quick working with your arms over your head, and I was hot and tired when I started that project. IIRC, I discovered later it could've been installed without that modification.
So far it's been working fine. I lost the lowest speed for some reason when I left the fan on for like 2 days in my driveway (forgot to turn it off). On lowest setting it moves quite a bit of air, and is very quiet. It gets pretty loud on the higher speed settings though, but it's also spinning a lot faster and moving more air. Not loud enough to bother me, but definitely loud enough to hear if the AC isn't running. Never had a problem with unbalanced blades either.
I chose this because it was the only option I could find that didn't involve removing the entire OEM assembly and having to re-seal the opening.
All of that being said, I intend to Eternabond over my seals at some point, and I may choose that time to remove the entire assembly and install a Maxxair setup. Maxxair is of much higher quality, but I wasn't ready to break those seals yet, so the Heng's has been a very suitable stop-gap. I figure at that price point if it lasts a couple years, I'll be doing okay...

Thnx all for the comments and possible issues!
In my case the Vortex II is the only option (a Maxxair cover would interfere with the front solar panel). After measuring, it appears the fan will fit. The only concern is the original garnish may be a tad small but I can install a slightly larger trim ring or make a frame if necessary.

I went with the Vortex II and really like it. I didn’t want to break the roof seal either. It’s a little louder than the max air and moves about 80-85% of the air that the max air does, with both fans on high. Worth the money to me . Jay.

Good to know you’re happy with it. I ordered one, will post a few install pics and review.
I’ll put the fan in the bathroom for exhaust and to draw fresh air throughout the unit. One thing I am not sure about is access to the ceiling light wire and assume it’s 18 awg.

As expected the original garnish doesn’t fit the fan but there’s an aftermarket solution. And it appears the fan and vent mechanisms to adjust the cap don’t lineup, 1/4” off. I’ll know soon, a slight vent modification may fix it.

Fan fits, no modifications necessary with the exception of an aftermarket trim ring, part# Heng's Industries 90092B.
I’ll drill two rafters and tap power from the dome light.

The aftermarket garnish fits! ...next wire the fan and test, I’ll try to post a short YouTube video.

Installed the same fan, works great! A couple of installation notes for those that are thinking of doing this:
1) I had to file off the little locating tabs on the outside frame of the fan to make it fit in my opening.
2) To make it easier to get the crank adapter aligned with the existing mechanism, I loosened the two screws that hold it to the fan housing while I put the fan into the opening. That will give you a little wiggle room the get them lined up properly. Once everything is attached and installed, then tighten the 2 screws.
3) Double check your wiring and install small 4" wire ties where needed to make sure your wires cannot fall into fan over time!

Wired the fan, all’s good. I replaced brittle weather stripping too.
