Fence post sewer pipe storage need help

Ok I read that some others have used a 5" fence post attached to the bumper with square u bolts as a sewer piper holder for the rhino flex pipes. I went and bought everything but the u bolts at Lowes and build the holder. I am having a lot of trouble finding the u bolts in the 5" size. Can anyone who has done this point me in the right direction? As a temporary solution I used 2 ratchet straps to hold it to the bumper, this is functional but definitely does not look finished. Thanks in advance for your help.

I just bought some very large black zip ties and that has worked very well for us for almost 3 years now.

I couldn't find any 5" U-bolts either, so I took a 4" U-bolt and "shaped it to suit". I had to utilize a couple of other fasteners to make it work.

I bolted mine using L brackets used for decking.

I just used screws on mine. U bolts are overkill. I made a cut into a piece of wood and had it slide over the frame rail which also made the area level then screwed down through the inside of the post into the wood block. Solid and nothing showing

McMaster-Carr has U bolts up to 8". A 6" square U bolt runs about $4. They have about anything you could need to attach/fasten anything to anything else. Been using them for years, always prompt service. Same goes for plumbing, electrical, raw materials, etc. A one stop shop.

A hand full of 6in bolts and some flat steel stock and you can make some mounts.

Fence post sewer pipe storage need help

Not to go off topic but my local Home Depot only had 4" fence post. It was tight but my rhino fits. I'm using big zip ties temporarily. If I find 5" post I'm upgrading.

I found the 5" at Lowes. And to be clear the vinyl fence is not in the same section as the vinyl railing so make sure to be clear in what you are asking for. The vinyl railing only comes in 4". It took me some time to figure this out on my shopping trip and of course they are sold in opposite ends of the store.

I use a 4 inch PVC sewer pipe. Round. Screw in caps both ends. U clamps from elect dept. Screwed to rails under RV right in front of the tires. All the way across from one side to the other. You can mount anywhere though according to where your slide outs are etc.

Tex, what kind of hose do you have? I'm wondering if the ends of a Rhinoflex will fit in a 4" round?

Rhino flex. I keep a box of the resturant style one time use latex gloves, screw off the adaptor and slide right in. The PVC slides easy compared to bumper.
From their web site.
4-in-1 translucent elbow adapter fits 3" slip or 3", 3-1/2" and 4" threaded dump-station pipes
Kit compresses to 56" for storage and the removable 4-in-1 adapter allows you to store the hose in 4" square bumpers

They sell them at rv store...but much cheaper to make your on.

Nice! I have the Rhino Flex, but it won't fit in my bumper because of the ends. I didn't realize it would fit into a 4" round. I' need to do this project ASAP.

I recently did mine. For the u-bolts, I had some ¼ threaded rod laying around, so I used it. Made a couple aluminum brackets to go under the frame from some scrap I had, and viola!

I attached 6"diameter pvc pipe to the tongue A frame using 1/4 all thread rod and just formed it to my pipe cut off excess then used flat stock to make the part for where nuts go on. Put slip on caps and it works for storing my large rug. Keeps dirt and dust out of camper, if it rains u don't have to worry just take out when you get home to dry. I would think you could bend it into square shape for that.

I used 1"ish wide galvanized foundation straps cut to length and bent 90*.

Fence Post Sewer Pipe Storage

Since my 2004 Jayco Greyhawk 27DS had a 4x4 angle iron bumper I decided to bolt my 5x5x8' vinyl post to the bumper using (4) Button head allen socket 3/8" NC bolts. The rounded heads won't catch on the sewer pipe. Also, I used (3) 3/8" SS washers between the vinyl post & bumper on each bolt so I could install & remove the post caps from both sides of the motorhome. I'm sure the 5" U bolts work fine, but I think it's a bit of overkill in my opinion.
Worked good for me. Jerry

I bought the rhino flex kit when we bought our TT. The hose fits in the stock bumper once you take off the end adapters. Am I missing something? Why the 5 in posts?

Found mine would not fit my std t/t rear bumper, until I turned the fitting so the four connectors on it aligned with the four corners of bumper. Worked!
