Front storage mods

Hi All,

Looking for some different front storage area mods. Have seen the peg board idea and like it but was just wondering if anyone else has done anything that works well for them.
Thanks

Nothing yet - there's lots of mods that I need to do but unfortunatly it hasn't been allowed on my priority list!

I've been thinking though. That area just seems like a big wasted space, like some of my cupboards inside. On one side, I store all my hitch accessories - mirrors, sway & WD bars, grease etc etc.. Right now, the BBQ is just in there about in the middle, so it's a pain to get out - I was thinking of making a shelf for it so it would sit up off the floor and nearer the access door (that way I don't look like Poo stuck in the Rabbits hole when getting it out). On the other side I'd like something similar for the chairs, that way they're up & out of the way.

I did buy some large, 6" hooks and screwed them into the 'ceiling' of the storage compartment - my fishing rods slip right in there snugged up against the wall/ceiling.

For a short time I considered installing a large shelf on rollers, so I could pull it out but decided against it - the door is smaller than the compartment & I'd end up loosing so much storage space for the hardware it wasn't worth it....

I'm interested in anyone else's ideas as well (and pictures!)....

Here is what I did with my front storage compartment. On the street side, 2 3 inch pvc "loops" to hold my weight dist bars, on the curb side some hooks to hold fire poker, marshmallow sticks etc, and plastic crate on the floor to hold odds and ends. I also put lights on the ceiling in the storage areas.

I do use photo bucket. I can see them when I log in. Is there something different I can do? I posted another pic in this forum the same way and everyone can see it. See the thread Bunk Ladder Ideas for the pic.

It seems that maybe just the pics that have been posted in the recent day or so are not showing up.

There are two process's to download pics at this forum, one is via a site like Photobucket and pics usually show up large here (But if something persnickity happens to PB or you tweak the pics in your album then it cancels out the pic you posted here. The other is by uploading the file/pic straight off your computer (shows up small, but reader can click on image to enlargen it). Try this second option and see what happens

If pics continue to not load, we'll have Rolly look into it

Reminds me that I need to make a fire poker.

The only thing I mounted was the awning rod and the jack tool thingy.
We only have one outside accessible hatch (it's the compartment under our bed. So we have to make use with what we got.
I bought some Rubbermaid tubs that I keep them in the storage compartment-- I keep them categorized into:
BBQ supplies/fire supplies
Cleaning stuff/ water hoses/ adapters/ surgical gloves / water pump
Tools/ flashlights/ batteries / hitch grease/ spare fuses, bulbs/ pigtails/ extension cords

It's all organized according to my set-up routine. The tool tub is in the back.

I still have a stick for a fire-poker that I found at Trail of Tears SP in Missouri some 15 or so years ago. Took my daughter there in our conversion van.
It's great for the fire, but not for walking.

I did pretty much the same thing with pegboard. I covered the entie wall from the curbside to about the middle and have everything in the world hanging on it, tools, crank handles, etc. I also hung two lengths of PVC to store the WD bars in when not being used. The only difference is that I positioned them so that each bar is reachable from it's respective side. The idea there was it was just a matter of time hopping over the hitch with a bar in hand before I lose my balance and bang the tailgate on the truck. Also the leveling blocks and wheel chocks are in a plastic milk crate on their respective side, again to keep from having to hop across the hitch with stuff. MY grill lives on one side and a small Craftsman air compressor with it's dedicated power outlet is on the other. I'm thinking about a light in the pass through since I already have power there, but so far, I just havn't had an issue seeing in there, even in low light. In spite of getting all of this stuff off the floor, I'm still finding myself running out of room, so I need to do some serious organizing. All in all, it's coming along. I need to find a place in the pass-through for my tool box and spare parts to live. Right now it all lives under one of the dinette seats, and I know DW would like to have that space. I've already put wire shelving in all of the cabinets including the kitchen and that tripled the storage space, especially in the bathroom to stack towels and linens.
