Furrion 30 amp conversion

I have purchased the Furrion FCKIT30-ps. I would like to install it this weekend but I’m concerned the supplied gasket won’t seal well on my 287 slx aluminum siding. Is there a putty or tape that I should use to guarantee there are no leaks?

I used butyl tape and lap seal when I did the Marinco version on my previous trailer (SLX 212).

X2 on the butyl tape - worked great when I did my Marinco conversion. The old mouse hole came from the factory with the butyl tape too. You can use some Dicor No-Sag lap sealant too but I found that once I tightened the new ring in place the butyl tape spread out and filled in nicely so I didn't need it.

I had bought one of the Marinco kits for my last trailer and was very satisfied with it. Fit great and worked great.

This time I thought I'd save a few bucks and buy the trailer receptacle and cord end separate, what a mistake.

The receptacle was considerably smaller than the hole so I had to make a reducer with aluminum to cover, took an extra couple of hours. By the time I was done I was pretty disappointed how crappy it looked.

So guess what, I ended up buying the whole Marinco kit again, wasted money the first try but lesson learned.

That's exactly what I was going to ask. The hole in my Jayco is pretty large, and I wanted an outlet that will cover it, without rigging something to make it work.

Thank you for the replies. I picked up some wire and the tape today. I will be happy to not have that opening there anymore.

I fabricated an aluminum spacer to try and make it cover the orriginal mouse hole. Hated how it turned out.

Removed it all and went with the other kit, it has two different rings so you can match the opening size
