G.E roof top A/C thermostat upgrade

So the new Jay Flight SLX 237RBS has a G.E a/c 15Kbtu. so far honda 3000iu is handling it fine.

several questions please

1. anyone have any experience with this a/c? good-bad?

a) I like the fact that it has a digital thermostat that controls it and the furnace.
b)I also love that when it cycles off the fan also cuts off. Hated the coleman because the fan always ran

2. can the thermostat be changed out with any digital a/c thermostat or is this one of those that the controller is in the a/c and must have the matching thermostat for it to work?(think i read that the dometics were that way) i would prefer a thermo that has a heat/a/c switch and a inside temp display. this one only shows set temp

3. do these a/c's come with hard start installed from factory? it seems to start easier that my coleman 13.5k
