I was thinking of putting it underneath the awning. Since it has a real plug, I don't think I will need to do any wiring or drilling...maybe I ma wrong. I think Harvey the RV has outdoor outlets that I can plug it into when needed.

Since it operates on 12 vdc why bother with the power pack just wire it directly to your 12 V system. That way just one less hunk of junk you have to carry with you on trips..

Checked them out on Amazon and seems there are a ton of negatives concerning the adhesive tape not holding. What was your experience using these lights under the awning?
My OEM strip lights under the awning have died or have almost died since the first 2 foot immediately to the front side of my door still lights up. Am looking for something to replace the OEM strip with.

I haven't installed yet, but I'm going to put them under the trailer. I will probably use 3M double sided foam tape (or something like that) and / or a hot melt gun.
I'm def not going to trust using the backer tape on the role alone.

I installed a similar RGB kit with a radio frequency controller instead of an IR controller, I used clear hot glue every couple of inches to secure it in place. the double stick tape on all led strips is usually pretty bad

Any suggestions on how to remove the OEM strip that has died? Guessing they are just stuck up with adhesive tape backing so should come off by just prying up one end and pulling.
Best way?

So, how do I do that?

For the price difference you can buy a roll of 2 sided automotive tape and still be money a head. that is what I did.

What I did was cut the end off the power puck run the wire along the awning arms and at the valance of the bottom of the RV put an accessory plug. It was really very simple and easy to do. Or you can go to Radio Shack and buy a 3.5mm?? barrel plug just make sure when you wire it in that the center is +.

On my RV I didn't use the adhesive tape and just slid into the channel. On my shop I have 2 of the strips and haven't had any adhesive problems in close to 2 years. I also know several other people that use these and no problems with adhesive.
