Gray Grey Water Tank hose hookup

I have a 174BH and the grey and black tanks are fairly small. The grey tank can be filled really quickly just by taking a couple of quick showers. So I decided to do what I have seen some others do by getting a Valterra hose cap and attach a garden hose to it to empty my grey tank (or most of it) into a water tank that is then easily taken in the back of my truck to the dump station. I just use a handheld water tank and not a rolling smart tote or tote along as I didn't want something that large or expensive. I paid $15 for an Aqua-Tainer and use it to drain my grey tank into and I don't have to take my TT to the dump station.

I have a 42-gallon tote, but often dry camp too far away from a dump site to tow it behind, as designed. I just put it in the back of the truck, and use my macerator pump to pump off my tanks, as needed, and I don’t have to move the trailer for either grey or black tank dump.

If you are just going to move grey water this way, you can get a 12v liquid transfer pump fairly inexpensivly at Tractor Supply or Northern Tool. This allows you to,pump the water to your tank, so that you don’t have to lift a filled tank into your truck. After two major back surgeries, I’ve had to learn how to camp without further injuring myself....
