How to Add LED Awning Light Strip

I have a 2012 184BH with the Carefree Pioneer manual crank out awning. I'd like to add a White LED strip under the awning. All the china ones I find on Ebay require an outlet to power, does anyone know of one that is true 12 volt that I can splice into one of the over head cabinet lights? Or how do you guys power yours?

Here is the shopping list when I did this last year on our class C.

Lights

Wire

Controller/Remote

Adhesion Promotor

You could go cheaper with just single color lights and an LED dimmer. But we had fun with the multicolor

I used these on a recent project - I can't speak for quality or length of life as I installed them less than 2 weeks ago...

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

You can cut the barrel connectors off if you wish to solder on your own wiring leads.....

Or, you can use something like this - I've ordered these for another project with the lights above, I just haven't put them to use yet....

Last year I installed an RGBWW kit with controller that I got from Amazon. I disassembled the controller box to hard wire it and also sealed it with RTV as it sits outside. I already had LED awning lights but they had failed so I didn't need to run wire.

If anyone is looking to add a LED light strip I suggest checking out “Boogey Lights” www.boogeylights.com they have several options for all kinds of applications. I have the multi colour RV kit with Bluetooth controller allowing me to control them with my smartphone. I installed them along side the OEM white strip and they have been on the trailer 3 years with no issues. Kit comes with everything you need for the install.

I used this kit https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Installed 2 yrs ago in place of the OE light strip. I used 3M tape to hold it on.

I just installed a weatherproof set from Amazon, multi-color w/ remote.
On my X19H I took out the microwave (4 screws) to access the wires for the porch light. Note that the wires coming from the switch itself are only one half (positive, I believe), so you'll need to get closer to the porch light to get the 12V+ and 12V-.
I tapped into those two wires and ran the wires through the cabinet, over the entry door, and up to near the roof line. I mounted the control box (about 1.5 x 1.5" in side) to the interior wall using Gorilla Mounting Tape. I drilled a 1/2" hole through the trailer wall - scary stuff. That was just large enough after taking a file to it, to fit the connector that runs from the control box to the LED strip. A bit of clear silicone both inside and out, and that hole was sealed from the elements once again.
Outside, I mounted the IR remote "eye" and part of the connector wire using more clear silicone.
I then ran the strip of LED's under the awning edge using more Gorilla Mounting Tape. This stuff is AWESOME and really works well for this job. Connected the LED to the connector and voila, switched LED's with minimal splicing required.

The power adapter they have with the lights takes 110 volt A/C and turns it down to 12 VDC. I threw the power adapter in the garbage and wired mine directly to the RV.

Same. Cut the wires on 12V side of the AC/DC adaptor and spliced it to the 12V wires for porch light.
