Could you expand on why you did not just tape the panel to the roof.



I would like to make sure we always have a full charge as we never know for sure weather we are going to dry camp. It will also mean we can leave the trailer parked without leaving it plugged in all the time or take out the battery.

There's a few reasons why. Solar panels get hot in the sun and their efficiency actually goes down as they heat up. I've seen a few videos where rubber roofs have discolored from the heat and we wanted to protect against that. Also rain, it might not be evident in the video but there's a small space between the panel and the corrugated plastic everywhere but where they're fastened with hardware. It should keep wate from getting trapped. Finally, this was the first time we've done this and we wanted to remove or replace the panels with minimal hassles.
We've left our batteries connected since we finished this install and never had a problem staying topped off even with a constant draw from having a few appliances plugged in including our hot spot we use to monitor our inverter and batteries remotely.

Are you not afraid of tape coming loose and blowing off at 65MPH? Can you send a link to the tape

I have zero concerns about the tape lifting. This stuff is not like duct tape. There's plenty of videos on YouTube featuring this stuff and its properties. We've hauled it over a thousand miles since it was installed and it sat in 100 degree heat for days without issue.
