Hummingbird Fresh Water Tank Overflow

I posted in the past about losing almost 20 gallons of my 25 gallon fresh water tank volume from driving several miles on washboard road in Utah last spring. The nature of our very shallow tank encourages the water to overflow easily. So I placed a petcock on the overflow and this last trip was without any water loss!

Just remember to open the pet cock when you fill the tank.

I seem to have lost that ability. I keep getting an error message when I try.

Thanks.

The overflow drain line on our 17RK is 1/2" ID so I had a spare valve that was perfect for it.
