I want to install fan/maxxair vent in rear bunkhouse

I have a 2012 TSBH. I would like to install a fan in the bunkhouse vent. My TT is stored and when we arrive, the South Carolina sun has the imside of the TT very hot. This makes the AC work hard right from the start. I presently have a vent in the BH, but no fan. The only other vent is in the bathroom. I know I could install the fan by myself if I were replacing another fan, but alas, no fan. Is there a power wire near the vent? How would you go about running one if there isn't? If there is would I be safe tapping into it? Probably need the help of someone with a similar unit who has done this mod. Thanks in advance.

krcakeer-- I f your search for power fails or if you want to go cheap for the time being, just install the maxx air cover and leave the vent open, that should rid you of some heat. Larry

I'm with 19H on this. We have the Maxx cover on our single vent in the bath. We keep the vent full open while in storage and leave the bath door propped open. It's not "cool" by any stretch but having the vent certainly takes the edge off the heat. As other folks have noted in several posts we never see a drop of water come through. These Maxx folks really got it right.
I think Jayco can supply drawings of your TT which would help you locate a suitable power source. There are several post commenting on getting construction details to help with mounting "goodies", cutting holes and the like.

If there is a light nearby steal power from there, you may have to put a hook onto a piece of wire and try to pull the wire over to where you need it.

If you take out the 4 screws holding the trim in place you can see if there are any 12V wires to tap into . The bottom half of the trim is easily removed for viewing. From what I understand Jayco will not issue a wire diagram to the current owner if still under a FW. Once the 2 years is up then they will provide them to you. Worth a shot though.

On the fan issue. I have MAII on all my vents and just having them open is a huge difference. If you do not already have a bathroom Northern Breeze fan on your unit then being a location where they usually put on as an option there will most likely be power there to tap into.
