Where you say the AC will blow 20 degrees "lower than ambient", it may make the reader think you're referring to the outside (of the camper) temperature. What counts is the air temp inside the camper.

The AC, in general, will/should, blow air about 20 degrees cooler than the air it sucked in. That's the air temp inside the camper. So if the camper is 100 degrees inside, the AC would blow 80. As the inside cools, the intake air temp will be colder. When inside air temp reduces to 90degs the AC will blow 70, etc.

Understood - thank you both for the correction!

That makes a lot of sense. our new pinnacle with 3 Ac units will easily keep it cool enough to have my wife complain, and she is always hot.

No it does not, the dumps are just vents in the cover that the outlet side blows out of. There are 2 side to the AC unit, an intake/return and the output. This mod seals off the output for maximum airflow to the ceiling vents.

I designed the 3D printed parts for mine after seeing the Changing Lanes video and they have worked great. Many have said they have no access to the 3D printer but this can still easily be dont by carving foam blocks. Somebody took my designed pieces and made a video showing a 3D printed part and carving one out of a foam block and got the same results.

I made my own from foam board covered it with gorilla tape to smooth it out a bit, and I can assure you it made a huge diff…. We had 95 degree term but feels like 105 degrees with humidity during last camping trip… and I was able to keep the trailer in the low 70’s….before this mod I was only able to get it down to low 80’s but Still felt hot because it wasn’t pulling much humidity out (stayed around 60% in the trailer). After mod I was able to get the humidity down to 35%, so like I say made a huge diff….

So if on the fence, spend the $15 or so for the foamboard and give it a try….

One thing many folks are asking is, is this plenum modification (whether homegrown or purchased) a good idea for a front AC, when the rear AC is whisper quiet type and not eligible for the mod and the front AC is close to bedroom outlet vents.

The ramifications of this decision are two fold:

1) It removes the ability to dump air right in to the bedroom, a room often needing some "direct cooling".

2) Does the new stronger air coming from the bedroom unit actually create a problem cooling this distinct area because of the new strong force of air actually bypassing the closest (bedroom) vents.

I am not sure this has been effectively addressed. Has anyone made this modification to a front air system and regretted it because it left them with no effective way to rapidly cool that room?

Actually, the 20º thing is about the temp drop across the coils and has nothing to do with indoor or outdoor temp. It's the difference between the supply air and return air. If you put a thermometer at one of the supply grills, a probe right at the grill, not a laser pointer type, and then measure at the return grill on the unit, right next to it, you should have 18º to 20º difference. It's also known as the Delta-T. If it's 100º in the camper, the supply should still be supplying the same temp if it's 80º.

If the unit is operating properly as described above, the contributing factor is how well your rv is insulated and it’s ability to keep the cold air in.
I will say my IR is very close to my probe thermometer.
