installing power jack

We want to install a power jack as soon as we get the trailer out of storage. Our driveway is at a angle, so we don't know if we should do it here or go to a parking lot where it would be flat. We do plan on leaving it hooked up to the tv. Any opinions as to what to do?
Thanks in advance for any help.

It might help to be on level ground, but as long as you are hitched up when you removing the current jack I don't think it will be an issue. The jack bolts directly the the A-Frame top plate, and there is is a bottom plate with a hole too, so I don't think you can install it incorrectly. Its a very easy installation, littleraly 3 bolts a few zip ties, took my 15 min total to install the Atwood 3500 on my 29QBH last month.

If you do it in the drive make sure the wheel chocks are in place and have a good grip before anything. I did mine that way with no troubles although the slope in our drive is pretty minor. I used a jack stand to support the tongue while I was working on it. It's a pretty easy install and I sure loved mine!

I would change it while attached to the tow vehicle. Just three bolts and a wire and your done. Be sure you get a good ground to the frame, paint isn't a good conductor.

The jack gets ground through those bolts. Make sure they are free of rust and I would use star washers so they get a good electrical "bite."

I ran a seperate ground connection to the battery. That way I knew there would not be a problem with the grounding of the jack. One of the best things I did to my TT.

That is a good idea.
