I also did the same thing under half of the couch (the half towards the front of the trailer). Again there is nothing but open empty space here expect for some wiring and water lines. I used 1/4 plywood make a floor to cover all the waterlines and wiring so now it's a great spot to store small bags or suitcases.

I was looking under my couch (2017) and there's TON of space under there but the front piece on the couch is a solid board that may offer some support to the couch. I don't see the slide out motor or arm in your picture 🤔 Here is what mine looks like...

And here is the space under the couch. It looks much different from yours. It's from the front looking to the rear.
