So I have ground to a halt! The flaring tool I bought is crap. Did two flares both lopsided.
Its packed up and going back to Amazon.ca
Checked with a friend and he's using a Titan tool double flare tool. Loves it. His is 3/16.... I need 1/4. Figures my luck! So can't buy the 1/4 inch version on Amazon.ca but I can from Amazon.com. Gotta pay import fee shopping and exchange on our loonie.
We are limited on what's open locally so now I wait.
I may bend up some of the lines waiting for the tool.
I did get the 4 flex lines mounted to the frame today.

I heard on the radio today they were starting to open things up a little more over there. Obviously not enough if you cant go to your local autoparts store and just rent one.
We need to find a mule to run stuff back and forth across the border! Lol!
If it wasn't for that darn creek between us you could just walk across like what's happening in the Southwest.
I bent up my lines to make sure they fit properly and cut them a little long this way I could measure and cut to exact length and flare the ends on the workbench instead of on my back or in a contortionist position under the trailer. I took a small scrap piece and practiced my double flaring a few times to make sure I could get them to come out properly.

If you are close to Princess Auto they have good flaring tools.

So got back at the brake lines finally. Door side is done. That titan tool flare tool works great.
All tied in to pump.
Here's some more pics.
Decided to run the lines on side surface of I beam.
I ended up facing the front tandem lines to the rear because of how the axles. Break over when you lift both sides of trailer up. I like should of had 16 inch flex lines instead of 14 inch. The loop over top of the tee fitting is rear tandem connection. I have driver side almost complete. Just rear tandem line to complete

I got busy today and finished the last brake line. I covered all the lines near the axles with wire loom and at transitions to top side of I beam. Rigged up the old breakaway switch and 25 feet of wire. Tapped into the new breakaway switch wiring and bleed all 4 brake calipers. Kept refilling pump... Surprised that it took a little less than 2 quarts of brake fluid. I must have twisted my tongue the right way... NO Leaks! Yippy! That flaring tool obviously makes perfect flares everytime! Next step put tires back on and put it back on the ground. Some misc pics attached

No leaks, eh?? I'm calling bull**** on that!! Lol!!

I got to thinking about something, when you installed your calipers you have all 4 mounted the same right?
As in all 4 on the back side of the axles or all 4 on the front side of the axles.

All 4 on the backside
That's what the manual said!
On the leaks Nada none! I was some impressed myself.
I am a farmers son and Jack of many trades, master of a few but double flaring brake lines I have not done before. It's gotta be that Titan flaring tool. Buddy just did entire Lincoln continental swap to discs with new lines. Same tool no leaks. Take read on the reviews.

Well finished up today. Had to cleanup a little wiring from my TPMS. Then loader off tractor mower on. Cut grass. Then I finally got back to putting tires back on. Reload front compartment after a vaccum out of basement as well. Ready for test drive and burnishing brakes next week when it drys out after the weekend rains.
It was a fun project for me!
Hope to get camping in late May after the provincial stay at home order ends.
Once we can get camping we are gone for a bit!

I had a lot of fun doing mine as well. I learned a few things along the way too.
Yup, get those brakes burnished properly and you'll be amazed at the new found stopping power you'll have. I had to turn down my brake controller 3.5-4 numbers.
Let's hope the stay at home order ends soon for ya!

Well we got the trailer out tor brake burnishing and shakedown.
SUCCESS!
Truck set at 3.5 out of 10. Likely going to turn it down to 3.0 as it is still locking up the trailer wheels
Electric drums where at 8.5.
What a difference.
Major mile wide grin!

3.5??? Wow! That's about 3 lower than mine. I had mine up to 10 with the drums and it wouldn't stop a turtle. I got mine down to 6.5, much better!!
Now you guys gotta get your beer flu under control over there so you can get out and enjoy!

Hey Lake Our Eagle is a tad lighter than you North Point.
Or its a Ford thing. I tried 4 and got 4 wheels full lockup on trailer real easy. That's too much! At 3.5 when I hit truck brakes I can feel it dragging me almost immediately and with a real drag. I didn't do any hard long stops. I kept them under 40 mph. Will see on our first camping trip... Hopefully in May!
