Latest 212QBW Mods

A few more mods to our 212QBW…
- sick and tired of the inaccurate tank level systems on trailers, so we decided to give the SeeLevel II a go. Inside wired up, waiting for the snow to disappear to mount the tank sensors.
- not impressed by the OEM blinds, so we installed some room darkening cellular blinds. Very pleased with these, hope they stand the test if time.
- love the pantry storage in this trailer, but the 2 bottom shelves were a tad difficult to get things in and out, so we built and installed some pantry drawers. Much better!

I like what you did with the pantry drawers. Much more usable. Good idea!

Nice job! The pantry drawers are easily the most useful upgrade for those of us that have "lost" items in the back of the cabinet.

Well done. We have the 19RD which is the same trailer but an east-west bed. I struggled with the deep cabinets as well but went much more low tech:

Bins

those were stupid expensive but I used 4 in the back cabinet and then 2 up in the front of the trailer.

Love the pantry drawers Yes I have lost stuff back there. My DH list is growing.

The bed is reinforced with three slats from top to bottom. Only one from side to side and it is already broken.

Are the drawers just stand alone or on tracks? Oops looked closer.. how did you get your head in there to install tracks?

Measured and measured, then measured some more (lol), did the mounts and glides in my shop pre-drilled. Only had to drill holes in the pantry, using the mounts as templates, not bad to do at all. Did take the door off for better access.

Did mod our bed too, as others have done, before even using the trailer, it has been bullet proof.

Kim, this may help as far as mounting the glides…

Great job! Would you mind sharing the part number for the drawer glides and shades? Thanks and keep up the great work.

The glides are from Lee Valley - 02K4218, 18" 75#
The blinds are from Home Depot - Home Decorators, Blackout Cordless Cellular Shade in Shadow White.

Great job! We’ve used some inexpensive slide-out stacked baskets in the pantry but yours are much nicer and sturdier. Do the blinds block light pretty well or are they more translucent? They look great. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, the blinds do block the light pretty well. They are room darkening, not translucent.

Bathroom Vanity Mod

The bathroom in our trailer is a tad tight, especially sitting on the toilet and getting in and out of the shower. Looking closely at the front of the cabinet, I felt a couple inches could be taken off and gain a little extra space. After another member recently posted that he had done this, I was inspired and went for it.
- carefully popped all the staples holding the front on, removed the sink, etc.
- cut 2” off the shelf and right side panels and completely removed the left side piece
- removed the top edge trim and cut 2”+ off the top and routed a new grove for the edge trim
- reinstalled the front and stuck the edge back on
Very pleased with the end result, 2” doesn’t seem like much, but wow what a difference.

Terrific job! Too bad Jayco’s workers aren’t as skilled and attentive to detail!

Thanks, too bad they wouldn’t at least clean up after themselves too.

I think I'm going to tap into that heat duct and put in a vent to heat the bathroom. We were in Branson, Mo. a few weeks ago and it was a little chilly in there.

Yeah it can get chilly in the bathroom. I did just that last year, world of difference.
Here’s a link to my mod, might give you some inspiration…

I hear hole saws and vacuums are outlawed in Middlebury Indiana.

I wanted to delete or put an adjustable damper to the furnace vent below the jackknife sofa, it gets really hot and burns the crap out of your legs when the furnace is on, i wanted to re-route a supply duct to the bathroom because it gets cold in there during winter months, ill probably tackle this mod in the fall.
