LED Light Pass-Thru Storage Install
Ok, I know that I'm camping right now, but what's wrong with a little mod "on the road".
Since I had already installed a few Command Electronics #K-900-UPG LED board's in my TT and liked the warm white light they gave, I decided to install a new product by Command Electronics in my pass-thru storage area. Have had to use the flashlight at times to find things in this area, plus I thought it would be a good place for those times I don't have shore power available (which is often in my case).
The #007-60RE is a new indoor LED light assembly w/switch and puts out little over 200 lumens at a very low amp draw, which will make the battery bank happy. I believe that Command Electronics also has an outdoor version as well. This product isn't on their web site yet, but you can call them if your interested. http://www.commandelectronics.com/
Since my storage area already had 12V wiring running through it, splicing into the existing Jayco blue/white 12V wires was a no-brainier. I chose a location that doesn't get any cargo interference and easy to access the on/off switch without fumbling around (12V green/white wires run to exterior side marker light hidden behind new LED wires).
Took the following pic in the evening, no flash, just a little campground street light shadow over my shoulder.......,
Now let there be light.......,
Now that was an easy mod...., now I'm bored...let's see.........
Bob

I will be doing the same mod this spring/summer when it gets a little warmer here in Minnesota. Thanks for the photos. Nice to see they work well with plenty of light!!!

Great Mod!
No power wires in my pass through, but I am going to have to do a little more investigating....

I never even thought about lights in the pass through. Our old 5er had storage lights and I just assumed our Jayco would have them too. I will be looking tomorrow but I think it will be dark inside.

No power wires in my pass thru, so I installed tap lights I found at WM. $3.96 for a set of 4.

We have tap lights too. They were supposed to be temporary as Don wanted to do some permanent lighting down there as well as a few other electrical mods. Man, being retired is rough, there's no time to get things like this done... *cough*
Actually, he did get a new undercabinet light wired into the kitchen sorta next to the stove. I'm thinking the storage lighting will be done when he gets around to wiring in the inverter down there. Funny, those things tend to get done when were are camping for long periods

I did the puck lights from Costco. 4 led lights with a remote switch. Mounted the 4 lights on the underside of storage unit every 16 inches or so and they do the job. Would like the brightness of the hard wired, but these will do.

use the puck lights as well in our ultralite. half of the kitchen cupboards were so dark you could not see a thing w/o a flashlite, installed one above each cupboard shelf, one screw; or you can use the velcro tape. very happy with the result, 17 dollars for 3 at wally; happy camping!

Our new Jayco FW, Eagle SuperLite HT 26.5 RLS, has two lights in our pass-through storage area, one on each side. Didn't have a pass-through on the old, 1993, FW so this was a nice surprise. Must be standard cause I didn't see it on the list of options. Nice mod by the way.

Bob,
You need to watch how cozy you make your storage bays.... You never know what you may find lurking behind the closed doors....

Great idea. Also, thanks for the link. Looks like a great source for LED lighting. What are your experiences dealing with the company.

Can you determine where the wiring for the bay lights originates? Guess I'll have to visit a Jayco dealer and snoop around in the bay areas- JMHO- DD
