My porch light switch isn't in the cabinet. But the porch light itself is directly on the outside infront of the cabinet. I chose the way I installed to keep from having to worry about the cables flopping. I have seen some others use some for of tape to keep the cables attached. I hope my pictures did help you find a easy way to do it
