Jayco mattress

Posted before, here is pictures. Put steel plates and up grade from 100lb springs to 200lb springs. Same length. Really just guessed at the springs and they work good. Seems like people get a comfortable bed they stick with it. Same hear. Wouldn't it be nice to get RV built with good materials and good workmanship.

Do you really think the rv industry could get away with selling a unit without a mattress? I highly doubt that will ever happen. Look, I understand your reasoning, it just won’t work in this industry. What would happen if a buyer got to their walkthrough (first time buyer) spending whatever they are (usually at or over what they really wanted to spend) and now they have to buy mattresses? It won’t work. There are plenty of products out there that I feel the same way; they shouldn’t include junk to satisfy the masses. But the customization/options some of us (including myself) want just don’t make sense to do.

Yep the mattresses are trash. We left it on a bed when we sold the house and took our bed-ina- box mattress with coil springs with us. We added a My Pillow topper and we sleep well.

I donated my old mattress to flood victims from Harvey.

Both really good ideas. 😎
We’ve tossed the oem mattresses on all the trailers we’ve owned and replaced with “real” queen mattresses. Both suggestions would have saved us the trouble of getting rid of the junk all manufacturers put in their units. LOL

Yup, the someone CAG is referencing was me (thanks, CAG!). Topper has been great for both DW and me, can't tell it from a full thickness memory foam mattress.

we are on our third matresses, 2 replaced on warranty. The worst one was the denver, it was the first replacement, 13 nights and was sagging so much that I had to call AAA to take me out of bed, we have just received the third one, a Serta , blue cover made from foam 3/4 inches and from some sort of blue styrofoam as a base ... not really impressed by just looking at it but it cant be worst that the Denver . I cant complaint about Jayco they never refused the replacement. At the first replacement they were offering 125.00 dollars instead of a mattress, but we refused , I would not do that again , we had too much hope in Denver mattress

It would be MUCH lighter when trying to access under bed storage.
We have had a sleep number King for 4 or 5 years and love it. I had to add an ac outlet by the bed to plug the pump into but the hoses and pump are under the bed. I did have to cut a small hole at the middle of the head to allow the 2 hoses to meet the mattress inlet. Yes it's much lighter and more expensive but it was worth it for the comfort of sleeping.

I think that manufacturers include a cheap mattress with new units just so they look "livable" when on the sales lot. Kind of like staging a house when it's put on the market.

Jayco, and other manufacturers, surely realize that everyone has their own idea of what a "perfect" mattress feels like, and that their mattresses are basically crap. And even if they spent money for good quality mattress, there would probably be 50%+ of the buyers that still complain that it's a poor quality mattress.

It would be cheaper for them to plan on replacing a small percentage of $25 mattresses that replacing mattresses under warranty that cost ~$200 or more.
