Had a busy weekend with the trailer, getting some time to drive around with it getting used to the feel of it, practice some backing up (using cones to simulate campsites) and to finish up some mods.

I got the shelves in the left wardrobe (my DW wanted them clear stained so they bounce the light better in the wardrobe - just noticed a few drips on the middle shelf, so I will have to clean that up). An interesting point in this, I had to notch the back of the shelf, cutting at an angle so when I inserted them, they would be able to fit due to the curve of the trailer front. Anyways, here's a couple of pictures.

I also got the TPMS installed, and I know there's lots of chatter in other threads, this is the one that I used - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1. It's solar powered and although limited to 70PSI, my starting PSI is 65 so I'm hoping that it does the job. I have not installed the booster yet; however, it is picking up all of the tires very nicely from the front of the truck.

I got a new mattress ordered (Zinus from Amazon) and its busy expanding and off-gassing as we speak

Next weekend will be concentrating on getting the old pop-up ready for sale. Opened it up this past weekend to start the airing out and looking for any damage that may have occurred over the winter.

Nice job! Just curious — what is the electronic device in the top left of the wardrobe?

Thanks. The shelves are held into place with Velcro tape so they are easy to pull out.

The gizmo is the sensor for the LevelMatePro (I am such a geek guy)...

It's been a busy couple of months with the trailer. Here's what's been happening:
  • Added some backsplash to both the kitchen and bathroom. This is documented here - https://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/f...tml#post769245
  • Installed the Extand-a-shower rod in the bathroom - https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  • Ran through the extended PDI that I didn't get a chance to do at the dealers (everything is good)
  • Cleaned up all the rust I could find on the frame and repainted with rust paint
  • Hardwired the TMPS booster so that it will shut off with the battery disconnect
  • Installed the wall in the under-bed storage so that the outside is outside. Also installed bed platform reinforcements.
  • Got rid of the old mattress (someone came and picked up it and the "free" pillow that came with the unit) and installed the new Zinus. The platform is still easy to lift and stays up. Comes down fast though

Getting it ready for the maiden voyage next week. Should be a big change from the pop-up (which is now gone).

Hmm, can't believe I missed a whole year

Mods I did last year:
  • Split the awning light and the step light
  • Added a dimmer switch to the awning light
  • Added a propane quick-disconnect to the back right side of the trailer
  • Added a rear ladder to the trailer

Now that the holiday season is over, the time has come to start thinking of what to do this coming year. Given the new tow vehicle, I can start thinking differently, especially given the longer trip we are hoping to do this year. So this is what I am planning to get done (hopefully as soon as I can get the trailer out of storage...), and thanks to the members who have fearlessly lead the way and documented their mods here:

If I get time (and permission...), I would like to replace the fan in the bathroom, replace the phone in the jack-knife sofa and maybe dip into solar a little bit...

It's going to be a fun year!

Great! Tops on my list are the dinette and sofa foam, and possibly the bathroom vent fan.

I really like all the mods you've made to your 212, particularly the rear ladder. I'd like to add one to mine. Please share which ladder you bought, any hints as to how you mounted it, and any more pictures you may have. Thanks

I actually had the dealer install it. The ladder is this one though - https://www.etrailer.com/RV-Ladders/.../LA-401BA.html.

I gave the service center the schematics that I had received from Jayco to assist with finding the mount points. I also had them add the propane connection at the same time as we were taping into the propane junction box (pictured below).

Ugh, $11,000 of hail damage to ours last summer, it's been in the shop since October waiting on siding. Hopefully it will be ready for our first planned trip in May.

When I ripped the right side of the trailer a bit (the dumbest moves thread), we were 10 weeks waiting for siding and then Jayco sent the wrong color. I hope it works out soon for you!

Don’t know about Kenny, but we use a telescoping shower rod between the walls right behind the toilet. Hang bath towels on it. Works great.

Like Lucky Duck, we have a tension rod above the toilet. We also have one above the drivers side window in the bedroom. Works great for extra bath towels or beach/pool towels. Still need to replace the ring hand towel holder...

We also replaced the bathroom mirror with a cheap Home Depot medicine cabinet. Have to empty it for traveling but it work great while parked.

ChiToones, the spring rods are definitely handy. We use a second one lengthwise over the tub (when not showering) to hold beach towels or other wet stuff. They dry well under the skylight. We, too, swapped out the hand towel ring — I used Command-type satin nickel towel bars, one above the other. Here’s a photo before I replaced the ring with the second bar. Work great, just wipe the wall vinyl with rubbing alcohol before sticking.

I like your little rack above the sink.... I will have to look at that one!
