More Command magic. So far it’s holding fine. Great for cups, lotions toothpaste etc.

As mentioned in the What I did to my RV today, I outlined the fun I had putting in the Husky electric tongue jack. Super happy with the result.

Nice! That really does look like a brute! Gotta ask: What is the purpose of the checkerboard pattern on the tongue? Just curious.

Those are so the rear camera can recognize the trailer for the back up assist. Our F150 has one of those knobs on the dash that steers the truck when backing a trailer. I found some of those stickers with the paperwork, but haven't set it up for that. I guess I'm too old to learn the high tech features. I'll keep using the mirrors.

Ah, thanks! Maybe I should stick some on the TT behind my old ‘99 F-250 just to mess with folks, LOL.

It is for the trailer backup assist. Me being the technology geek that I am set it up just to see.

So, you put the knob on the dash in the 6 o’clock position...

If you want to really give it a test, see if it will parallel park your trailer!

Ok so we had the 17RD pulled by a Highlander Toyota. Flipped into a,150 5. then wanted a walk around bed. Looked at the 212QB and loved it. Went to an RV Show and from there bought a 2020 21FB Mesa Ridge Highland Ridge now and then owned by Jayco although built by Highland. Same trailer except the stove is by the door and the bathroom door opens opposite otherwise the same. 1st, do I qualify for this forum... maybe like a half brother... 2nd, hasanyone removed the table area and replaced with chairs? For The dinner area I made a 18inch round table using only 1 leg. Lots more leg room but still would like a chair there.. Anyone here done that? Maybe a recliner and leave one bench... 3rd, has anyone relocated the TV? Watching it is a neck strainer...has anyone done that MOD.
We LOVE the 21. Unless you want a Class A, or C. The back portion is like a little Livingroom, same with the 17RD Jayco. Perfect in my opinion.
3MODS we did.
1. Bought a regular mattress, makes all the difference in the world.
2. put on a battery cutoff switch
3. Made a 18" Round table to replace the huge table but I still bring it, it stores nicely within the two bench seats standing up.
I have YouTube videos about it, The Lost RV'ers. We've done about 30,000 miles so far, heater went out, they replaced a something and recently my tires, rear, seem to be wearing fast... other than that... 212QB or the 21FB are ideal for weight, size and towing... Haven't seen another I'd want...plus....NO SLIDE

Thanks in advance if any advice on the Dinnet.

Your half brother in the Jayco Forum...

I love the back up assist. The 2021 eliminated the need for the sticker. To me it's like automatic transmissions, power windows, gps, voice command, back up cameras, etc. It makes operating the vehicle simpler and less work.

I was riding with my son in his Tesla with self driving mode. I can't wait for that to be mainstream. Give me a truck that hooks up the trailer automatically and parks itself.

We too had the same issue with the rear TV, mount above the window was just too high for comfortable viewing. My solution was to use a Height Adjustable Swing Arm TV Wall Mount. This allowed the TV to pull out from the wall and lower down some. To get extra lowering, I made up an offset plate for the VESA mount. Now it can be lowered down in front of the window for viewing and then raised back up out of the way when not in use. For traveling, we use a bungee cord across the front of it attached to a couple of plastic tubing clamps screwed to the wall.

Curious to know if anyone has a solution to fill the space between the sofa and dinette when they are both folded down. My thought I'd that if there is a solution here it could make for a better sleeping arrangement for a guest with head at the sofa and feet at the dinette end.

Same unit I have. Works really well.

Mods I did last year:
  • Split the awning light and the step light
  • Added a dimmer switch to the awning light
  • Added a propane quick-disconnect to the back right side of the trailer
  • Added a rear ladder to the trailer

Now that the holiday season is over, the time has come to start thinking of what to do this coming year. Given the new tow vehicle, I can start thinking differently, especially given the longer trip we are hoping to do this year. So this is what I am planning to get done (hopefully as soon as I can get the trailer out of storage...), and thanks to the members who have fearlessly lead the way and documented their mods here:

If I get time (and permission...), I would like to replace the fan in the bathroom, replace the phone in the jack-knife sofa and maybe dip into solar a little bit...

It's going to be a fun year!
So 2021 was a bust for me, ripping my Achilles in July stopped a lot of things; however, I did manage to do a few of the things on my list - new power tongue jack, foam in the dinette and propane tank covers. Other than that it was quiet. This past year, I managed to get the jack stands built, replaced the bathroom fan and replaced the bathroom faucet (which wasn't on my list). My plans for next year are:
  • Replace rims and tires - Staying with 14" but moving up to 215/75R14s
  • Replace Kitchen faucet
  • Add in shutoff valves to toilet, kitchen and bathtub water lines
  • Replace the struts on the bedframe to something stronger (to keep the bed up better)
  • Replace the thermostat
  • Replace the 12v battery with two 6v batteries

That's where I'm starting from; hopefully it all falls into place!

Sounds like you did pretty good, considering the injury. What brand of fan did you install? And faucets? Thinking about both of those, too.

I put the Maxxair in, great fan, really moves the air around. For the bathroom faucet, I put in a Moen Hensley, but they don't have a matching kitchen faucet.
