My bunk mods

My minions were having a hard time getting into the upper bunk, so here is my solution.

We actually use the ladder from the bunk over the cockpit for them to get up! Works like a charm (if you have that of coarse)

I wanted something compact that could be used while everything is buttoned up without further interfering with access to the bathroom. This allows access to the bathroom and the drawers without any issues.

Are those just standard closet shelf "L" brackets for the uprights on the gate parts? If so, do you have another flat piece that lays under the mattress?

I've been thinking of ways I can contain DS in his bunk. For now a pool noodle between the sheet and the mattress does the trick, but he's not crawling or walking yet, so I have a little time (just a little, he's going to get up and crawl away any day now!) before I need a gate.

Yup I used regular shelf standards for them and with a 5 or 7yo laying on the mattress, it is solid without any additional bracing and screws. I did have to educate the kids on the bed rails as they thought they were to help them climb up. Another quick solution may be small shower/tension rods with something in between them, especially for very young one's.
