My Electric RV Bed Lifting Project Install (videos)

Well it only took about 3 years, but I finally uploaded the installation videos for my electric bed raising project. I used a 12 volt, 12" Linear Actuator that I purchased on Amazon. There are 4 videos (2) for the installation, (1) for an UPLIFTING demo and of course (1) for the lowering of the bed. The install took less than an hour, and has been used a hundred times already. It is amazing how often we go into that storage area since the lifting process has been AUTOMATED. DW is one VERY HAPPY CAMPER.... actually so am I, as I keep all my electronics for my projects down there.

One thing that I did not show was a 1/4" metal plate that I installed on the top of the bed board that the linear actuator bolts to. More support!

The wiring is very easy.

Purchase a DPDT switch with center position of OFF from Amazon. (ON/OFF/ON)
I also included a sample switch you can use from Amazon below. This is not a momentary switch.

- Drill the hole where you want to mount the switch

- Per the picture below put a jumper between terminal #1 and #6
- Per the picture below put a jumper between terminal #3 and #4
- Per the picture below connect the Linear Actuator wires to #3 and #6
- Per the picture below connect the #2 terminal to a fused +12VDC connection
- Per the picture below connect the #5 terminal to ground connection

- Install the Linear Actuator.
- Install the wired switch
- Test the unit

**** The picture shows a 1 amp fuse, it should show a 10-15 amp fuse. I have a 10amp fuse and it works fine.

You will be surprised at how much more you will be using that hidden storage area.
