True, but the end seams should be locked together and contraction shouldn't happen at that point.

Gotcha, I forgot about that. That would be so,e serious expansion to pull them apart and I wouldn't think they would ever go back together either.
So now I am at a loss.

Vinyl has a tendency to expand and contract more than other types of flooring. Also they become somewhat brittle in very cold weather. One brand I installed recommended not allowing the space to get below 55 degrees. In extreme cold weather even walking on some vinyl floors can cause cracking.

I have started a vinyl plank install on our 2014 361REQS fifth wheel. The carpet came up fairly easy as it is just stapled down. I needed to cut against the walls and cabinets as they installed all the carpet first and then added walls and cabinets. They also wrapped the stairs in carpet then installed them. Had to take the stairs out to remove carpet. I assumed the vinyl in the kitchen and entry was glued at the edges. Mine was a total glue down. That was the hard part of the removal especially removing the glue and vinyl residue. I put down an underlayment that is like butcher paper I had left over from a hardwood floor I installed in my home. I am using a 5.5 mm plank floor from Lumber Liquidators. I am about half done. The only thing I had not considered is I am adding about 200 lbs of weight. Will post some pictures later.
