How much did it cost? Is it a space heater?

I like that mod and I wish had room for it. Enjoy it on those cool nights when you can just kick back and have a sip of wine.

How many BTUs does it put out? Did you run a new power feed to it?

With my factory installed fireplace I have to toggle a switch which alternates between fireplace OR water heater (elec. or propane). The point is to keep in mind your total current draw.

Last Nov. I found out that my elec. space heater (+ hot water) and the microwave don't agree with each other.

Nice installation. Did your run dedicated power to it or tap something already in there?

Very nice. Thinking of doing this mod. I have the same media center/cabinet in my jay flight 25bhs. Do you happen to still have the model number/manufacturer for the fireplace?

I have an electric fireplace in my 5'er. It was factory installed and works great. It is a forced air electric heater and does a nice job. Right now I'm on a host site with electricity included so I am heating with electric 99% of the time. I have run the propane furnace a couple of nights when the temp dropped to 13 degrees to keep heat to my tanks, etc. Even then I set the thermostat to 55 to keep the furnace running at a minimum level.

The electric fireplace I have:

Dimplex
Model DF2608
Wattage 1,440
Amps 12.0
BTUs 4,915

I read this last night and could not stop thinking about it today! Thinking I may do measuring tomorrow to see if it's possible. Did you plug into an outlet or hardware the unit?

The OE models are wired just like a portable heater and plug into a outlet in the area.
