New Shower Curtain Rod - Extend-A-Shower

Finally bought and installed the Stromberg Carlson EXT3542S Extend-A-Shower in my 32BHDS. The pictures I took below show I have not removed the old curtain yet. I will remove the curtain, but leave the original rail.

I haven't used the shower yet, but I have gotten in and can already tell it is going to be so much better. The original curtain was always cold and would stick to you when touched. It drove me crazy.

Installing it was pretty easy. The outside wall connection went into a wood stud. The inside wall was pretty hollow where I drilled. The wall anchors from Lowe's would not catch and the screws kept turning. I had to put a smaller anchor inside a larger anchor to get them to stop turning and get a solid connection. Make sure if you are going to put one of these up that you verify it will clear everything. This thing is going to move and the directions don't mention looking for clearance problems.

I cant tell from your pictures. I am assuming that it does clear the medicine cabinet ok? I have been wanting to do the same thing to our 32BHDS.

Yes, it does clear the medicine cabinet. The plastic curtain will be touching the medicine cabinet when I push it out of the shower, but just barely on the corner of the cabinet. I don't care what it took, I had to get that curtain out of the way. I don't know why Jayco doesn't move the original rail out another 4 inches. It would be out of the way and give so much more room in the shower. It would have been so easy for them and not cost a dime more.

Nice. I installed one in our Greyhawk, big improvement over the sliding doors.
